Zaraq is a 2004, non-fading, "blue" black,
Straight Egyptian, Sheykh Obeyd, Heirloom stallion. He is also Al Khamsa and
Asil. Zaraq is the only black "Heirloom" [Egypt I / Blunt] son of
Amir Seralim BWA.
Strain: Saqlawi-Jedraniyah (Sudan) [AP] in tail female
through Roga El Beda / Ghazieh
Sire line: Saqlawi-Jidran - Jamil El Kebir
Zaraq El Amir BWA has 5 crosses to Moniet El Nefous through his dam, Khemona Lisa BWA (by Khe Adhm - *Adhem ex Gita RSI) ; Khemona's dam is Bint Mona Fisa by Sonietassolar RSI ex Mona Fisa (double *Fakher El Din).
Three of Zaraq's lines to Moniet El Nefous are through her daughter Bint Moniet El Nefous by Nazeer and two more lines to Moniet El Nefous are through Sonieta and Alcibiades, full siblings to Bint Bint Moniet, the dam of Moniet El Sharaf (and TC Moniet's Legacy).
He is a very typey black stallion and should also make an excellent choice for outcrossing to The Minstril lines as he carries no *Morafic / Shaikh Al Badi / Ruminaja Ali / The Minstril blood.
Zaraq brings forward his sire's unique genetic legacy
combined with excellent blood lines from his dam Khemona Lisa BWA
(Khe Adhm x Bint Mona Fisa).
Khe Adhm and his full brother Saud El Ameer are the
only Heirloom progeny of *Adhem and the only extant Heirloom progeny
of their dam Gita RSI (Faarad x Grete), a proven broodmare of quality
foals.
*Adhem is by Alaa El Din, in his time one of the top
sires at the EAO in Egypt. *Adhem's dam Zabia 1951 gray mare (Adham x
Ghazala I) is the only source of her dam Ghazala I within Heirloom, in
turn the only source of her parents El Moez and El Zahraa and
El Zahraa's sire Rasheed. Zabia is the last-born extant horse carrying
only the Egypt I ancestral element within Heirloom (without Blunt desertbreds).
She comes forward through her daughter *Sabah El Kheir and her son *Adhem.
Bint Mona Fisa (SonietasSolar RSI x Mona Fisa), bred
by Bill and Edna Weeks from Pritzlaff stock coupled with *Fakher El Din
(full brother to Pritzlaff's mare *Bint Moniet El Nefous), is one of
three full siblings, but the only one breeding and is therefore the only source of her dam within Heirloom.
Mona
Fisa was by Nefis El Din (*Fakher El Din x Alfisa RSI), a prepotent sire
for type and temperament. Nefis El Din's dam Alfisa RSI was by one of
RSI's main herd sires, Alcibiades and out of Pritzlaff's imported mare
*Bint Nefisa. Llela Din, dam of Mona Fisa, was also a *Fakher El Din
daughter out of Bataara, full sister to Gita RSI. Llela Din was a prolific
broodmare and was greatly admired for her beauty and quality throughout
her life. SonietasSolar RSI (Almoniet RSI x Sonieta), was bred by Pritzlaff
and sold to Weeks as the foundation sire for Hatchie Hill Farm. He
took Top Ten in English Pleasure, Reserve Champion in Western Pleasure,
and qualified for 1989 Nationals in Dressage when a leg injury ended
his 3-year show career.
Zaraq is bred even more broadly across the Heirloom spectrum than
his sire, but with bloodlines concentrated by the presence of full siblings
in his pedigree, giving diversity while storing genetic potential.
Zaraq's sire, Amir Seralim BWA, is the only AK son of
the Babson stallion Ru Amir Ser (AMIRS SER RAH x BINT GAMMOUSA), who
was exported to Mexico. AMIRS SER RAH himself also sired only this one
Heirloom foal (Ru Amir Ser) as did Bint Gammousa. Coincidentally, Bint
Gammousa is a full sister to Shar Sabbah, producer of outstanding performance
and breeding stock, including Ibn Sabbah Bedu +/, Ibn Lothar, Char Mahrsab,
Inshalla Imhotep, Sabbahs Marjah, and the up-and-coming sire, Bedu Sabir.
Amir has a great combination of blood: Ansata, Pritzlaff and Babson Blood
with Zaafarana.
Zaraq's dam, Khemoma Lisa BWA is a rare daughter of Khe Adhm
by *Adhem. Khemona's dam is a large well moving daughter of Sonietassolar
RSI and is double Fakher El Din. Her dam line traces to Ghazieh through
Grete (*Rashad Ibn Nazeer x *Bint El Bataa AHR*14454 ). Such bloodlines
are not so common today! Only 14 Straight Egyptian Sonietassolar RSI
daughters have produced foals; two daughters were exported. Bint Mona
Fisa, the dam of Khemona Lisa BWA, is the only daughter produced from the
mare Mona Fisa by Nefis El Din. Nefis El Din was bred by William and
Edna Weeks. This information was generously provided by Debra Kay
